By Ed Van Rooyen, CEO and co-founder of T-Cup
Lee Mears, friend and former England Rugby player and British & Irish Lion asked me "What do you want?" "I don’t know. I replied. "All I know is that I want to be happy, healthy and successful."
It was a lightbulb moment. We realised that there was no existing way of tracking those things. That conversation made me realise that I wanted to find the right balance in my life and help others to find it and keep track of it too. So together, Lee and I founded T-Cup. Our aim is to help as many people as possible to find their own perfect blend of health, happiness and success through self-reflection and support in today’s evolving world of technology and remote working.
These days, my ultimate goal is for my young daughter to look back when she’s older and say, “My dad made a difference.” Today, I’ve never had a better balance of the things that are important to me in my life. T-Cup has helped me to find my balance and I want to help others find theirs too.
It just so happens that Health, Happiness and Success are included in the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. We knew we needed to take a scientific look at understanding wellbeing in order to create a solution that would truly work. So, we enlisted the help of Bath University with a focus on researching and scientifically defining the main areas of life that impact our wellbeing. The results were fascinating and the output became the bedrock of our work.
We used this science-based approach to create AI that uses real-time data from individuals using 9 key questions that span the three areas of Health, Happiness and Success with a keener focus on aspects of daily life such as diet, activity, hydration, relationships, sleep, mood, stress, ambition and financial wellbeing.

Help us spread the word
We are always looking for partners as we continue on our mission to bring more awareness to people's workplace and daily lives.
We know that there continues to be a stigma and hesitancy to talk about mental health, feelings of unhappiness and a sense of discontent. But it doesn't have to be like that.
We know from experience that conversation is the key. So whether you are looking to make a change in your life or where you work, or would like to discuss the opportunity to be one of our inspiring partners who can help us spread the message, then please do get in touch.
We know we can change things and with your help, we can get there faster.
We are proud to have forged strong partnerships with like-minded individuals and businesses who, like us, are passionate about improving people's wellbeing and making a positive difference by using tech for good.
